My Sarah’s garden series are made every year (numbered in sequence), after a visit to my muse: Hillandale gardens and nursery, Yetholme, NSW where I spend a day with Sarah, walking through the garden and discussing our projects for the coming year. These paintings are about friendship: especially the ones nurtured later in life over a shared appreciation. I’ve painted these since around 2010 and every year I get the images a little closer to how I want them to be.
